Fun fact: The Ruffsdale Gun Club holds the distinction of being the oldest trap shooting range in Pennsylvania, having been established in 1895! The club continues to operate successfully and welcomes the public for trap shooting sessions every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Additionally, the club has recently publicized its 2026 ATA Shoots, details of which are available on the flyer below.
The club is located at 741 Mt. Pleasant Road Route 31, Ruffs Dale, PA.
SPONSOR PLUG: Since 1991, the Hunters Sharing the Harvest (HSH) program has helped hunters donate deer meat to people in need across Pennsylvania. This program works by sending the donated venison through a network of approved processors and food banks to local charities in both cities and rural areas. HSH is a well-respected partner in deer management in the state and works closely with food banks and charities to help feed families and individuals at risk of hunger. The program is a registered non-profit organization, funded by both public and private sources, and has become a model for similar programs in other states. HSH was created to allow Pennsylvania hunters to show their support for low-income individuals and families by donating extra venison. What is trapshooting?
Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4-1/4 inch clay target which are launched through the air from a single machine simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

What is sporting clays?
Sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wingshooting, and six different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.
