This upcoming Tuesday, August 5th, marks the exciting beginning of the Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen’s Club Fall Trap League. Nestled in the scenic surroundings of North Strabane Township, this league has been a staple in the community for several years, consistently drawing in both seasoned shooters and enthusiastic newcomers. The club prides itself on fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment, making it an ideal place for individuals of all skill levels to come together and enjoy the sport. The league is always on the lookout for fresh talent and eager participants to join in the fun, so check it out!

What is trapshooting?
Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4-1/4 inch clay target which are launched through the air from a single machine simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

What is sporting clays?
Sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wingshooting, and six different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.
