Coal Ridge Sporting Clays (Weirton, WV) just upped the ante by adding a third thrower to all 16 stations on their main sporting course. This means an even more exciting array of targets to choose from, with three distinct menus tailored for casual, intermediate, and advanced shooters. You can experience these new presentations on Saturday, February 28th, during their epic Chili Shoot! (More info on the flyer below.)
If you haven't had the chance to visit Coal Ridge Sporting Clays yet, it's definitely worth a trip. This top-notch shooting facility is conveniently located just 25 minutes from Pittsburgh International Airport. Nestled on the beautifully reclaimed site of an old coal mine, the course offers stunning views of the surrounding 350-acre farm and consists of 16 covered stations, all of which are unique and are large enough for you and your team to get out of the weather.

What is trapshooting?
Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4-1/4 inch clay target which are launched through the air from a single machine simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

What is sporting clays?
Sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wingshooting, and six different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.
