Reminder: Scroll all the way down for a handy schedule of shooting events happening in Washington County and nearby areas. Trap and skeet sessions are mostly during the weekdays, while sporting clays are set for the weekends. Enjoy!
This Saturday is your final chance to experience the thrill of shooting Cosmic Trap at Roscoe Sportsmen’s Association until the Fall. Just $10 per round, and the action kicks off after dusk. Check out the flyer below for details.
There are plenty of shooting events lined up for Good Friday, and we'll dive into those more next week. But first, I want to highlight a special event: the Good Friday Ham Shoot at the Library Sportsman’s Association. It runs from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Check out the details below:
If you’re not able to make it out and shoot this upcoming weekend, perhaps you may be interested in Washington County’s Largest Gun Show, presented by ARH Sport Shop. The show is taking place at the Washington County Fairgrounds this Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 - 4:00 p.m., and admission is $10. Call 724-948-3571 for info.

What is trapshooting?
Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4-1/4 inch clay target which are launched through the air from a single machine simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

What is sporting clays?
Sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wingshooting, and six different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.
