The Summer Trap League at the Clairton Sportsmen’s Club kicks off this Thursday, April 30th! Check out the flyer below for more info.
If blasting clay pigeons into oblivion is your idea of a good time, then hold onto your sombreros because this weekend is packed with options! First up, we’ve got Coal Ridge’s 4th Annual Cinco de Mayo shoot, where you can celebrate with a bang—literally. For more details, feast your eyes on the flyer below. Olé!
Hunting Hills continues their busy Spring this Saturday with the Shooters for Shelter event, hosted by Mon Valley Habitat for Humanity. The fun starts with a warm-up at 9:00 a.m., and the main shooting event begins at 10:00 a.m. Be sure to get your tickets or check out sponsorship options by clicking here!
If larger shoots isn’t quite your cup of tea, then mosey on over to California Hill Gun Club this Sunday morning. They’re serving up breakfast followed by a round of 100 sporting clays from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. It’s like brunch, but with more bang! Check out their website for more info.

What is trapshooting?
Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4-1/4 inch clay target which are launched through the air from a single machine simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

What is sporting clays?
Sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wingshooting, and six different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.
