Friday, August 1st, marks the beginning of National Shooting Sports Month, an exciting time for both seasoned enthusiasts and curious newcomers to come together in celebration and active participation in shooting sports across the country. This month-long event is dedicated to promoting safe and responsible engagement in shooting sports, emphasizing the importance of safety protocols and responsible handling of firearms. It also serves as a platform to raise awareness about the diverse range of opportunities available for individuals to explore and enjoy shooting sports, whether they are interested in competitive shooting, hunting, or recreational target practice. What is trapshooting?
Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4-1/4 inch clay target which are launched through the air from a single machine simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

What is sporting clays?
Sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wingshooting, and six different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.
