Yesterday the Breaking Clay staff visited Hunting Hills Shooting Preserve in Dilliner, PA, where the morning air was filled with the sweet sound of clay pigeons meeting their untimely demise.
The day got even better when we stumbled upon the newly-opened Hunting Hills Armory and Outfitters. This place is like a candy store for gun lovers, boasting brands like Beretta, Benelli, Browning, Franchi, Rizzini, and Fierce. It's got everything from shotguns to rifles and pistols, plus all the ammo and gear you could ever need to make your day at the range a blast—literally.
The best part? You can "try before you buy" right on the course, 5-stand or trap/skeet fields. Gun fit is a foundational element for consistent performance, and testing it in action makes all the difference. What’s more, inside there are two state-of-the-art TrueClays shooting simulators, making this spot a must-visit for anyone shopping for their next shotgun. If you're in the market, head here!
Current hours of operation are Friday and Saturday from 9:00 - 5:00 p.m., and Sundays 9:00 - 3:00 p.m. Give them a call at 724-324-2738.
P.S. Sign-ups are open for Hunting Hills’ annual Good Friday Fish shoot taking place on Friday, April 3. For $75 you get a round of Sporting Clays (100 targets on course) and a fresh fish lunch. Shooting begins at 9:00 a.m. and lunch will be served from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. You can sign up here.
Hunting Hills Armory and Outfitters is well stocked for all of your shooting needs.
Ellsworth Sportsmen’s Club (Scenery Hill, PA) announced their Spring Trap League, which runs May 5th - June 6th, with shooting on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. and Sundays at 1:00 p.m.
The Golden Pheasant Sportsmen’s Club (Washington, PA) will hold trap shooting and Annie Oakley shoots every Tuesday evening at its facility at 350 Reese Road. Trap shoots start at 6:00 p.m. and Annies start at 8:00 p.m. Cost is $6.00 for trap and $3.00 for Annies. They’re also holding a meat shoot this Sunday, March 15th, at 10:00 a.m. Cost is $5.00/shoot. What is trapshooting?
Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4-1/4 inch clay target which are launched through the air from a single machine simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

What is sporting clays?
Sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wingshooting, and six different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.
