Fun Fact: Trap shooting originated in the late 18th century in England as a way to practice bird hunting, but back then the targets were live pigeons released from cages or "traps"—that's where the name "trap shooting" comes from! (The now-classic term "pull!" to call for the target also dates back to this era.)

What is trapshooting?
Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4-1/4 inch clay target which are launched through the air from a single machine simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

What is sporting clays?
Sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wingshooting, and six different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.
