Get ready to blast off this Saturday, November 8th, because the universe has aligned for a cosmic clay showdown! First up, the Roscoe Sportsmen’s Association is rolling out the red carpet for an evening of trap shooting that’s out of this world. Shooting starts at dusk. Meanwhile, over at the Fayette Gun Club in Uniontown, they’re launching their inaugural Cosmic Clay event of the season from 5:30 to 10:00 p.m. It’s like a space mission, but with more clay pigeons and fewer aliens. Don’t miss your chance to shoot for the stars—literally!
Looking to enjoy some sporting clays during the day on Saturday before diving into cosmic clays? Check out the third annual Veteran's Day Shoot at Coal Ridge Sporting Clays! It's a great event where part of the proceeds will support the "Legacies Alive" charity. Registration kicks off at 9:00 a.m., and the shooting fun begins with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. Remember, all participants need to pre-register and pre-pay. To secure your spot, give them a call at 304-670-8919.

What is trapshooting?
Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4-1/4 inch clay target which are launched through the air from a single machine simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

What is sporting clays?
Sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wingshooting, and six different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.
