For those who find joy in the crack of a shotgun and the sizzle of a steak, an exhilarating week lies ahead at Hunting Hills. Prepare for a double-barrel dose of excitement as Wednesday brings their normal steak night, a feast for the senses. Then, on Thursday, the air will buzz with camaraderie and competition during the "Roughneck Thursday" clay shoot and networking gathering. You can reserve your spot online.
Meanwhile, over at Coal Ridge Sporting Clays, Thursday promises a culinary and sporting delight with the renowned Burger Blast. For $90.00, participants can indulge in 100 targets, a trusty golf cart, and a meal complete with drinks and dessert, making it a day to remember.
For you trap shooting enthusiasts, the Library Sportsmen’s Association recently announced the start of their annual Fall/Winter trap league. (You can subscribe to their newsletter here.) The league will be 500 targets, 50 targets per week for 10 weeks, starting on Thursday, September 11 and will run for ten weeks.
Per their newsletter:
You may shoot two weeks ahead and make-up as many weeks back as you need too.
It is $10.00 to sign up and each round of 50 targets is $20.00. Should you wish to participate, Lewis class is another $25. You can begin signing up any Thursday at the office beginning this upcoming week and may sign-up till the 3rd week of the season.
This is a fun league and is open to members and non-members, and we are happy to have all levels of shooters involved. Our league has grown tremendously the last several years and we look forward to seeing you.

What is trapshooting?
Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4-1/4 inch clay target which are launched through the air from a single machine simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

What is sporting clays?
Sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wingshooting, and six different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.
