Attention all trigger-happy stargazers! Hold onto your hats (and your ear protection) because the Roscoe Sportsmen’s Association is rolling out their Cosmic Trap schedule for the Fall season: five glorious chances to blast glow-in-the-dark clays. It's like a disco for your shotgun! Feel the thrill as you take aim at these neon UFOs zipping through the night. Check out their Facebook page or the flyer below.
For you sporting clays enthusiasts, today is the last day to register for the Northern Panhandle Quail Forever Chapter Clays for Conservation event, presented by Expand, which will be hosted at Coal Ridge Sporting Clays near Weirton, WV.

What’s more, Coal Ridge Sporting Clays just announced their first NSCA registered event, the 2025 Coal Ridge Mountaineer Cup on October 4, 2025. Registration is now open on Score Chaser or by calling 304-670-8919.
There will be three separate events : 100 Target Report, 100 Target True Pairs, and 50 Target 5-Stand, with prize money from each registration going back to the top three scores in each class including "Hunter Class.”
Please note, registration is not limited to NSCA members and the course is still open to the public for regular reservations. In addition, their pyramid wobble trap will be open for warmups, and the clubhouse, patio, and Lost Bird Bar and kitchen will be open all day with several meal specials. Grab some friends and come out to Coal Ridge to enjoy a day of shooting some tournament style targets.

What is trapshooting?
Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4-1/4 inch clay target which are launched through the air from a single machine simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

What is sporting clays?
Sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wingshooting, and six different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.
