A few quick scheduling reminders:
The Doubles Trap event at the Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen’s Club has been canceled for this evening. Additionally, the Jack-O-Lantern Invitational, originally scheduled for this Saturday at Coal Ridge Sporting Clays and organized by the Keystone Ramblers Sporting Clays Association, will be postponed due to insufficient registrations.
On the subject of the Keystone Ramblers, if you’re into sporting clays, you definitely should consider joining for the year 2026. Membership offers numerous benefits, including serving as a communication hub for various shooting activities and events throughout the year. Members also enjoy reduced pricing on targets, carts, apparel, accessories, and dining at select shooting clubs. The local affiliated clubs include:

What is trapshooting?
Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4-1/4 inch clay target which are launched through the air from a single machine simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

What is sporting clays?
Sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wingshooting, and six different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.
