If you haven’t already, this Thursday is your last opportunity to register for Library Sportsmen’s Association’s Winter Trap League. Per their latest email:

The Fall/Winter trap league started on September 11th and runs for 10 weeks. The league will remain unchanged from the last several years. It will be 500 targets, 50 targets per week for 10 weeks.

You may shoot 2 weeks ahead and make-up as many back weeks as you need too. As we have in the past, you will have plenty of time after the 10 weeks are up to make up your targets, so don't worry if you get behind, we want you to finish the league.

It is $10.00 to sign up and each round of 50 targets is $20.00. Should you wish to participate, Lewis class is another $25. You can sign up Thursday night and may sign up until the third week of the season.

When you sign up make sure you give a valid e-mail address, and indicate Lady, Junior, Senior or Senior Vet. Juniors are under 18 by the start of the season, Seniors are 65 by the start of the season and senior Vets are 70 by the start of the season.

This is a fun league and is open to members and non-members, and we are happy to have all levels of shooters involved. Our league has grown tremendously the last several years and we look forward to seeing you.

What is trapshooting?
Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4-1/4 inch clay target which are launched through the air from a single machine simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

What is sporting clays?
Sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wingshooting, and six different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.
