Where to Shoot Clays This Week
April 28, 2025
Last week was the launch of the Breaking Clay Newsletter. If you missed it, you can check it out here. The goal every week is to simply keep you informed on upcoming shooting opportunities. And please, if you have any comments or feedback or want to add an event to the list, please contact me.
This Weekโs Featured Shoot
You still have time to participate in the 2025 Mon Valley Trap League. However, time is running out as you must shoot one of the first four shoots for scores to count for a team. This Wednesday (April 30th) at 5:00 p.m. is Round 3 at Library Sportsmenโs Association. You must shoot 15 scores to qualify for prize money, and you must shoot at least once at each club. More details on the league can be found here.

Itโs also worth mentioning that Ellsworth Sportsmenโs Club in Scenery Hill, PA is now officially part of the Amateur Trapshooting Association. Congratulations!

What is sporting clays?
Sporting clays courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wingshooting, and six different sizes of clay targets are used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.
